A US winery operating in interstate commerce holds a TTB basic permit issued under 27 CFR Part 1, and a bonded wine premise registration under 27 CFR Part 24. The TTB publishes the basic permit registry, which we filter to permittees who have actually filed a COLA — the working set of US wineries that put product on shelves.

This page lists those wineries by state, plus the most active by COLA filings. Wine producers and bonded wineries are combined under one hub because the legal distinction does not matter for most analytical use cases.

About this data

Data is sourced from the TTB basic permit registry, refreshed daily. Coverage is filtered to permittees that have filed at least one COLA — the operational set, not every dormant permit ever issued.

Some TTB-issued permits in the underlying source are not categorized by type. Brewer's notices, in particular, are not currently surfaced in this hub set because they appear under a different TTB classification system. We're working on it.
